Wierdest day in a while.

By Markus

Yesterday I put out a news release showing we are the largest dating site in the english speaking world.  We are also the largest community site in the US not owned by an american company.

This morning I spent 30 minutes on the Phone with someone from the US Department of Justices Antitrust division.

One thing that sucks about getting big is you have to deal with all these government agencies you never knew existed.  For a while there I was spending more time dealing with that,  then actually running the site.

What was the DOJ’s issue? That you weren’t American? =)

  2. Karl Says:

Why does the US Department of Justices Antitrust division have any interest in you? You are not a U.S. citizen, so you are not under their jurisdiction, correct?

  3. Brian Smith Says:

I am surprised that you handle that kind of stuff directly on the phone instead of in writing and/or through your attorney.

  4. Dave Says:

I wish I had your problems.

    Mark,

Congratulations on you latest achievements referenced in the article.

I live 30 minutes from the DOJ and they don’t call me. Lol.

No doubting you professionalism but honestly it sounds like a phone call for a lawyer to be present. Of course you did not say that one was not present.

  10. Michael Says:

Never talk to an agent of the government, yours or any other, without a lawyer present. Never.

Good for you for hiring people to help with your site. I remember seeing this post on sevenmile.com saying, what would happen if you got hit by a bus. Maybe you should start focusing on buying lots and lots of dating keywords with type in traffic to completely cement your position on the net. :) .

    thanks for the time

Markus, it is not enough that you succeed.
    Others must fail.
Which is a reason why there has never been a statute erected,
