Marc Porcelli, the man who claims heput singlesnet on top has left to go back to Azoogleads. His blog is interesting reading as it outlines Singlesnet Strategy.
This year has seen the largest sites grow modestly with second tier sites taking 50% dive in traffic on average. Looks like the US market is entering a major consolidation phase. I can’t see to many senior execs hanging around companies that will have little to no growth in the next 2 or 3 years.

Check out Pimp It To Us. The website is dedicated to showcasing one advertisement a week on its homepage, it is as simple as that.
How It Works:
Each week they will auction their homepage space on eBay. When the auction closes the highest bidder will get to use the space provided on their homepage to display whatever they want. You can advertise your business, website, political views, etc.
Click my screen name and take a look at it.

Hi Markus, I love David who slay Goliath stories like yours. I have a Goliath I am trying to take on, ‘I Can Has Cheezeburger’. I have never seen a websites users more devoted and fanatical then their members. It is almost like a cult with a solid bullet proof impregnable wall around it.
If you have any advice to give about how to take on a giant it would be appreciated. Obviously this is a whole different space and type of users.

I am surprised you do not get mad traffic on your blog here. The ShoeMoney and Pro Blogger guys get tons of traffic on their blogs where they regurgitate material any moron already knows yet a genius like you gets squat for traffic on your blog.
Maybe it is the free WordPress and generic Kubiac design. The internet is like fishing, you need to find that shiny lure to attract allot of fish (no pun attended).

I thought singlesnet’s only reason for success is in their blatant false advertising of “100% free, no credit card required”. I am surprised they haven’t been sued by their competitors for false advertisement.

Singlesnet.com has been amassing a growing mountain of complaints regarding its trade practices. As of November 25, 2008, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office (617-727-8400) has been investigating 21 complaints, all received within the past two years. The Better Business Bureau has taken down its review of this company, ostensibly for a “re-review”. Reviews of this website abound on the Internet-please be careful.

I was a paying member of Singlesnet. Most of the contacts made were nigerian scammers. But since they advertise HEAVILY on Myspace they rake in a lot of NOOB’s . I can understand the purported mountain of complaints. Their strategy is if you are a member you can message anyone on the site paying or not and if you open communication with a nonpaying member they can message you back. I currently am a member of Eharmony and I have 132 contacts with 2 open lines of communication. Not a good investment of my time, or money for either.
