Eharmony did a research study that says eharmony couples are happier and don’t get divorced as much as Match.com Users. Amazingly they admit that match.com has more marriages a year.

Not that it matters, here is where the market stood last year in the USA. POF is probably #1 in terms of marriages now, there is a large lag between when relationships were created and when you actually got married.

That research is based on 2 flawed “brochures”
The one from Chadwick Martin Bailey (Match)
The one from Harris (eHarmony)
2009 eHarmony Marriage Metrics Study: 148,311 marriages and 1,130,006 non-married, monogamous relationships (ESTIMATED TO BE) started by eHarmony, between January 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
The majority of persons who leave eHarmony are not going to marry, they are going to be in a non-married monogamous relationship.
They should investigate divorce rates in married and non-married but in long term monogamous relationships couples.
eHarmony’s personality similarity approach is correct, but how eHarmony assesses personality and how eHarmony calculates similarity is incorrect
If eHarmony were a medicine, it will be performing as placebo.
The success rate* of eHarmony is less than 10%**.
*success rate == percentage of persons who leave the site because they found someone compatible.
**estimated by Fernando Ardenghi using reverse engineering.
The majority, over 90% of eHarmony’s members are not going to achieve a long term relationship with commitment (or marriage) using that site.

Hang on…..
Are you saying you want to hit 17%…. ?
Correct me if I’m wrong but that is .. marriages that last LESS than one year… surely that is a bad thing.. that the people that are getting together are completely ill-matched.
Surely it’s the longer relationships that you should be aiming for .. not the shorter ones (well(!))

thats marriages created in the last year.

Interesting – in your previous post you said Zoosk are raising $50m – and in these figures you show they have zero numbers with regards to relationship successes. By extrapolation, POF must be worth billions.

they haven’t been big long enough to show up. Give it 2 or 3 years.. Look at yahoo personals its been dead for years and still shows up.
April 11, 2011 at 10:57 pm |
How can this be recent? Yahoo Personals doesn’t even exist anymore.
April 11, 2011 at 10:58 pm |
Since Match bought Yahoo.. so you are far far behind #1.

I’ve been on Plenty Of Fish for years now and I have NEVER talked to one woman on there. Am I that odd that there are no women on there with whom I can be mutually interested? I’m a good guy. Maybe that’s the problem. The ones I’m attracted to are usually money hungry bitches who love the dicks. Guess I’ll be alone forever……thanks POF….

Hi,
I’m in Vancouver, Canada and cannot resister on your site. I have been trying all week.
Is there a problem with your site right now?
Keep getting error message of:” You are attempting to signup from a country we currently do not accept signups from your current location. We only accept users from Canada, UK, US, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, France, Italy and Germany”
I’m in Canada?
Can you help?

Guys, don’t bother with internet dating. Join a group that shares your interests e.g. hiking, dining. Internet dating is full of women that have mental issues or they just want attention.

I cannot find any other methods of communicating with POF. I am interested in advertising/promoting a singles cruise for all POF users and alumni. I have tried contacting the advertising department three times in the last 4 weeks and still no response. I do understand that everyone is busy but I would expect in the professional arena I would at least get some sort of response. I think this would be an amazing opportunity to promote singles travel as well as a chance to share POF success stories. I would appreciate if someone could contact me. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

Interesting data, I also wonder how recent this can be.

I didn’t heard about Yahoo personal before!? It seems it is the same as Match so their statistics should be gathered. (clear #1)
