There are so little traffic stats out there for dating sites, so i’m going to put out a few.
The average age of a active daily user has fallen to 35 years for us, from 40 in 2009.
Here are what our stats currently look like in our 3 biggest markets,
2 Million active daily registered users in the US
550,000 active daily registered users in the UK
450,000 active daily registered users in Canada
There are a lot of very misleading stats about the dating industry out there. The Online Dating industry in the US is not a billion dollar industry. The combination of revenue from US users received by Match.com, Eharmony, Spark networks and other major dating sites does not add up to 1 Billion. To get to a billion plus Offline matchmaking and adult dating sites are tossed into the mix. Match has 1.1 Million subscribers in the US, Eharmony 500kish, spark networks at 200k maybe if you toss in the other 1400 dating sites in the US you come to 2.5 Million paying online daters out of a singles population of 100 Million in the US.

Hello,
Great site although some suggestions.
I am not fond of the new personality in one word feature. That simplifies a person too much. I may have 5 or 6 of those traits which would attract a wider audience. I know it is all about trying to find better matches but to narrow my personality to one word is too much.
I am also not to keen on the BBW question.
If people want to use them that’s fine but it shouldn’t be a forced to be in your profile (I can’t update my profile unless I answer the question!)

i cant get into pof says not reg users in your area x to much spam i tried all areas and same x pof cant be not allowing the uk on site. Is this just a fault

This site wont allow accounts to be completely deleted despite the command specifically refering to as “delete” account, that is some of the information is wiped but things like age, location, sex, username and email address are retained in PLAINTEXT. To find this out for your self just delete account and wait a few days and then perform username search (without logging in) and you will find the remains of your old account. Also if you create a new account you can reclaim your old username IF you also use your old email account which Proves that they keep your email address after “allegedly” deleting account. Bear in mind that markus is a jew by birth and that hitler keept some alive so the world could se why he killed the others

Markus your site is broken.
Upon registering and receiving your welcome at my email address, me and thousands of users are unable to log into said account. The passwords are not saved, and when prompted to input an email address the error “not in our database” pops up. This is a fundamental technical issue that is happening as we speak. It is likely you wont realize or do anything until your page views drop to zero. Hate to burst your bubble but all your advanced technical knowledge and (support? do u have any?) are for nothing. Maybe its time to take some of that ad money and…i dont know..hire someone who actually knows what they are doing on the back end?

Oh and whatever database you use is providing only denials on username registration. I can type ANYTHING into the username field and it will come back with “username is already taken”. Really?!! u mean someone had: klwedcnvutyxzqdf as a username?? riiiiiiight… suuuuuure they did. LOL @ your lack of technical prowess.

To whomever it may concern,
My name is Nikki. I’m a new user on POF and I’m writing this because I found something quite disturbing on your site. This site was going very well for me up until I noticed the option for ethnicity. There are of course several different options. However, when I scrolled down to choose my ethnicity I noticed the only option was ‘Black’. I’m very insulted by this as it’s 2013 and I consider myself African American as do others. On the other hand, For white people, you guys have the ‘white/caucasion’ to choose. Is it too much to ask to have POF change this to African American/Black? This a matter of respect for African Americans. We are not just “Black”, we ARE African American. Please show respect for the African Americans that use your site and pay just as everyones else.
I’m sure if I bring light to this, many African Americans would be insulted. Who do I need to contact to get this changed? Thanks

Not sure if you’ve noticed it, but there are millions of Africans that are from white to brown to coal black, particularly South Africans. Maybe a colour range would be better.
Most people with no international experience do not realise that the colour question is of vital concern in most Indian and African groups, and there is usually a whole range of variations in colour identity (not only caste/class) when it comes to organising marriage partners.
(The lighter the colour the better the caste.) In China and Japan, the more European the face is, the better. (Not flat or round and a prominent nose).
The only real solution is to post your picture and allow it to identify you more precisely.
